Eine der wichtigsten Entscheidungen ist gefallen: Die Raiders Tirol haben in Tyler Knoop ihren neuen Quarterback für die kommende European League of Football-Season gefunden. Der US-amerikanische Spielmacher hat auf College-Niveau einen großen Erfahrungsschatz sammeln können sowie auch bereits 2025 auf europäischem Terrain in Ungarn und Großbritannien.
Der gebürtige Texaner erhielt nach einer starken Highschool-Karriere Stipendien-Angebote von mehreren Universitäten, entschied sich 2021 schlussendlich für Georgetown, wo er in weiterer Folge für die Hoyas in der Patriot League (FCS Division I) auflief. In drei Jahren erzielte Knoop 2.426 Passing Yards für 19 Touchdowns und 11 Interceptions. Als Dual-Threat-Quarterback war er auch im Laufspiel ein entscheidender Faktor und kam auf 396 Rushing-Yards und fünf Touchdowns. Für sein Senior-Year wechselte Knoop 2024 an die Stony Brook University. Dort wurde er ab Woche sechs zum Starting-Quarterback ernannt und erzielte in sieben Spielen 2.021 Passing-Yards bei 17 Touchdowns und vier Picks. Auch hier überzeugte Knoop mit 172 Rushing-Yards. Jetzt will er bei den Raiders Tirol für Furore sorgen.

One of the most important off-season decisions has been made: The Raiders Tirol have found their new signal-caller for the upcoming European League of Football season in Tyler Knoop! The American playmaker has gained a wealth of experience at college level and did as well some first steps in European football in Hungary and Great Britain in 2025.
The Texas native drew interest from multiple universities after a standout high school career before committing to Georgetown in 2021. Competing for the Hoyas in the Patriot League (FCS Division I), Knoop threw 2,426 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions over three years. As a true dual-threat quarterback, he was also a major factor on the ground, adding 396 rushing yards and five touchdowns.
For his senior year in 2024, Knoop transferred to Stony Brook University. After taking over as the starting quarterback in week six, he put up strong numbers: 2,021 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and only four interceptions in just seven games. Knoop continued to impress with his mobility, contributing 172 rushing yards. Now, he’s ready to bring his experience to the Raiders Tirol and show off his talents in the ELF.
